Publishers Weekly recently announced breakdown of the bestsellers for the first part of the year 2019. Third place overall in the year was Dav Pilkey's Dog Man: Brawl of the Wild. Dog Man: Brawl of the Wild was so well received that it sold in 524,849 copies and took the top slot on the children's list. Author-illustrator of the bestselling Captain Underpants series, Dav Pilkey, continues to dominate children's lists, as Dog Man series had three of the top 20 bestselling children's titles this year.
